Distance Learning Diploma in Human Rights and Peace Studies is conducted for people who are otherwise unable to access Human Rights education owing to educational, social, economical and geographical boundaries.

Applications are called for the above one year programme.  The objective of this programme is to provide an interdisciplinary course on human rights and peace education to those whose activities will have a positive impact on the promotion and protection of human rights and peace, but who have not had the opportunity of obtaining a structured understanding of the subject.

Eligibility
         

(a) Six passes at the GCE (O/L) Examination or its equivalent with at least 3 years’ work experience in the field of Human Rights, OR

(b) 3 passes at the GCE (A/L) Examination or its equivalent; with at least one year’s  work experience in the field of Human  Rights, OR

(c) Work experience in the field of Human Rights for a period of over five years provided that she/he has obtained recommendation of the Head of any such institution in which she/he works or has worked. Each application under this clause shall be considered on its merits.

Medium of Instruction:  Sinhala and Tamil

Course Fee: Rs.20,000/-
